Songs of Praise

He’s got the whole world in His hands.
He’s got the little tiny baby…
He’s got you and me brother…
He’s got you and me sister…
He’s got everybody here…
He’s got the wind and the rain…
He’s got the sun and the moon…
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel, no! I’m gonna let it shine.
Don’t let Satan blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine ‘till Jesus comes, I’m gonna let it shine.

Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning
Give me oil in my lamp I pray.
Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning,
Keep me burning ‘till the break of day.

Sing hosanna, sing hosanna,
Sing Hosanna to the King of kings.

Give me joy in my heart keep me praising. etc.
Give me peace in my heart keep me resting. etc.
Give me love in my heart keep me serving. etc.

Lord I lift Your name on high
Lord I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad You're in my life
I'm so glad You came to save us

You came from heaven to earth
To show the way
From the earth to the cross
My debt to pay
From the cross to the grave
From the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

Morning has broken
Like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird
Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing
Fresh from the Word

Sweet the rain's new fall
Sunlit from heaven
Like the first dew fall
On the first grass
Praise for the sweetness
Of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness
Where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight
Mine is the morning
Born of the one light
Eden saw play
Praise with elation
Praise ev'ry morning
God's recreation
Of the new day
Opening Prayer
What are we to make of this day?
When graves are opened...
When the dead awaken...
When life refuses to be contained...
Then nothing is impossible! Hope is never extinguished
and love is never conquered.

We celebrate You today, Jesus, Because You have made it clear that death does not have the last word; Because You have filled us again with hope and faith; Because You have given us a vision of new possibilities, new realities, and new ways of being.

Open our minds to believe what we cannot explain; Open our hearts to hope for what we cannot see; Open our lives to live and to love in the midst of death and despair; Let resurrection happen again in us today. Amen.

The risen Christ came and stood among his disciples and said: 'Peace be with you!'
Then they were glad when they saw the Lord.

Alleluia! The peace of the risen Christ be always with you.
And also with you. Alleluia!
(Please welcome those around you.)

Because he Lives

God sent His Son they called Him Jesus
He came to love heal and forgive
He bled and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove
My Savior lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives

How sweet to hold our newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives
But greater still the calm assurance
This child can face uncertain days
Because Christ lives

And then one day I'll cross that river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death gives way to vict'ry
I'll see the lights of glory
And I'll know He reigns

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

We lift up the world in which we live.  Life seems to be under threat...
our earth is grieving, our families are fracturing, our nations are at war, and the light of our hope is growing dim.
We need the stone to be rolled away again.

Forgive us and all who have failed to honour and preserve life in all its diversity and glory. Forgive us and all who have allowed relationships to become less important than riches or recognition.

Forgive us and all who continue to exalt our needs and desires over those of others, and who are prepared to kill to prove it. Forgive us and all who have grown blind to all the signs of resurrection that beckon us still.

We need the stone to be rolled away again.
We need life to break out within us again. We need love to consume us again. Resurrect us today, O Lord, and make us agents of Your life wherever dying and grief hold sway.
For Jesus’ sake.
Amen.

COMMUNION

THE PEACE
Peace be with you.
And also with you.

The people may greet one another with the peace of the Lord.

INVOCATION

Father God,
we come into your presence; we come as your children; we come to give our thanks and praise.

Holy Spirit,
we acknowledge your presence with us; we welcome you into this place; we ask your blessing upon us, and upon this bread and wine.

Lord Jesus Christ,
we come to your table, as you invite us, we come as your disciples, and you call us friends, we come to ask that you forgive our sins and fill us with your love.

We sing:
Lord Jesus Christ
You have come to us
You are one with us Mary's Son
Cleansing our souls from all their sin
Pouring Your love and goodness in
Jesus our love for You we sing
Living Lord.

Lord Jesus, we thank you for the gift and the mystery this meal; And we come to remember how on the night before you died, you shared a meal with friends, teaching them of your love; and releasing your power into the world. Giving thanks, breaking bread, blessing wine:

Your body and blood; for us and for all.

We sing:
Lord Jesus Christ now and every day
Teach us how to pray Son of God
You have commanded us to do
This in remembrance Lord of You
Into our lives Your power breaks through
Living Lord.

Lord Jesus, we thank you that you have come to be our Saviour; born as one of us, living a life free from sin:

Healing and serving, loving and giving. We remember how you suffered upon the cross, dying for the sin of the world, rising victorious from death, now living forever: exalted in heaven.

We sing:
Lord Jesus Christ
You have come to us
Born as one of us Mary's Son
Led out to die on Calvary
Risen from death to set us free
Living Lord Jesus help us see
You are Lord.

Lord Jesus, we thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit. As we share this meal together, may you unite us with yourself and the Father, bind us to one another in love, and release us to serve you in the world:

Healing and serving, loving and giving, free from the power of guilt and sin, as you renew us in your grace.

We sing:
Lord Jesus Christ
I would come to You
Live my life for You Son of God
All Your commands I know are true
Your many gifts will make me new
Into my life Your power breaks through
Living Lord

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
