Hi Table View Methodist Family,
This Sunday we will focus on Exodus 16:2-15; the Israelites have begun their journey through the desert to the promised land.  The journey began as an act of God's grace - he miraculously rescued them out of slavery.  They soon realise that it will be an uphill battle and are tempted to give up; go back to slavery; even die in Egypt rather than strive for the Kingdom.

In this case - in the midst of their complaining God didn't get angry with them - instead he provides for them - Manna (A mysterious bread from heaven) and Quail.  As you make your journey with God remember that it sometimes gets difficult; but God's grace is always enough.  I look forward to worshiping with and asking for God's help with you this Sunday at 8am, 930am and 6pm.  Mr Linda Mathutha (a local preacher from the circuit will lead the 11am service).

On Saturday Morning (20 September at 930am) the WA will host a speaker from Dementia South Africa; I think this promises to be a very helpful talk for those with the prospect of suffering from Dementia and those who care for them.

God bless,
Rev Angus Kelly

PS - Read below for information about a youth camp the youth pastors have planned for next weekend (26-28 September 2014)

#SELFiE is all about discovering who you really are. Each one of
us has an identity in Christ. Again, this doesn't mean we have to
be carbon copies of each other, or behave in a certain way for
God to love us. God created us just the way we are, and through
a relationship with Him, we can learn to love ourselves just the
way we are, and love others just the way they are.
Where will we be taking the #SELFiE?
Amana Conference Centre, Hermanus
When will we be taking the #SELFiE?
26-28 September 2014
How much will it cost to take a #SELFiE?
R400, which needs to be paid before arriving on camp so
that we can pay the campsite.
How old must my child be to take a #SELFiE?
13-18 years old (or Grade 7-12)
What do we do at #SELFiE?

your works are wonderful, I know that full well." - Psalm 139:14

Hi Table View Methodist Family,
This Sunday we will be reading from Matthew 18:21-35, an extremely challenging gospel passage in which Jesus challenges us to forgive as we have been forgiven.  Please join us at 8am, 930am, 11am and 6pm.

During this past week I've had the privilege of taking communion to some of our members who can no longer make it to the service; please let the office know if you think of anyone who can't make it so that we can make arrangements to visit with them.

Memorial Garden
I would love for us to set up a living memorial garden along the East facing wall of the Sunday School and office building (pictured above).  We do currently have a memorial wall at the back of the church; but it is in such a dark and dreary place that very few people know about it or would like to visit it.  We could place plaques in memory of our loved ones along the wall and ashes could be interred in the flower bed / under stone tiles.  We would not be able to use brass plaques (they get stolen) but plastic ones are available.

This could be an ongoing project - in the long run I would like to see a fence set up that would prevent kids from running into the parking lot.  We could also set up a pergola to create a shady place for people to sit while they remember the ones they've lost.  We could even put up a jungle gym in a corner of the garden to create a place for families to play.

Please give me your feedback; and if you'd like to be a part of a team that makes this start to happen then please email me, contact the office or Joe Taljaard (our property steward). Especially if you have loved ones that you would like to be remembered in our garden let us know.

Confirmation Classes
Confirmation preparation classes will begin this Sunday at 5pm; our next opportunity for confirmation and baptism will be 2 November.  Please come along this Sunday at 5pm if you are interested. The idea is that we prepare you for membership but you only get confirmed when you decide that you are ready.  We will make sure there are at least two opportunities for confirmation and baptism next year.

God bless,
Rev Angus Kelly
