Pastoral Note - 7 July 2016

Hi Table View Methodist Family,
I returned to work today to finish preparing my sermon for Sunday and write this note.
Firstly - thank you for the vacation time.  We had a wonderful time with family, staying in Jeffrey's Bay; celebrating my nephew's 21st, my 40th, my brother in law's 50th and my mom's 70th birthdays.  (Lots of cake!)
The gospel for this Sunday is Luke 10:25-37, The Parable of the Good Samaritan, told in response to the lawyer's question:  "What must I do to inherit eternal life?"  I look forward to worshiping with you as we reflect on this passage at 8, 930 and 11am this Sunday.
Passing of Faith Adams and Margaret Hodgkiss

I was sad to hear of the passing of Margaret Hodgkiss last week and I'm also sad to tell you that Faith Adams passed away on Wednesday morning 6 July.  Those of you who knew Faith and Margaret will know that they were both instrumental in founding and building up the Table View Society and they will be sorely missed.

Faith Adams' memorial service will take place at the church next Saturday 16 July at 2pm.
Evening Service from August, 6pm
From August we will be starting up our evening Service every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month.  The service will take place at 6pm and we will meet in the foyer or the Sunday School hall.  If you want to commit to being part of the team that will make the evening service happen - please let us know.
On the last Sundays of the month Iain and the youth worship team will be leading worship and preaching for the children at the Marsh Memorial Home in Rondebosch.  We will keep you informed as this ministry develops.
God bless,
Rev Angus Kelly
